Announced at the 2011 Fall College Media Convention:
The Oklahoma Daily came in eighth and Sooner yearbook came in ninth in the Best of Show competition at the 2011 National College Media Convention in Orlando. The Daily entered the Oct. 12 paper, which had a cover story on President David Boren's decision to stay eight more years. This was the first contest for Sooner 2011.

The Daily's Jared Rader won a first place in the national Story of the Year competition/editorial category for a February editorial entitled “OU selling students out.”
