The Features department produces a variety of magazine-style publications that provide real-world experience students who are interested in writing, editing, photo and design, but not necessarily hard news. Sooner, regularly named one of the top one or two collegiate yearbooks in the country, is our flagship publication. (Follow @sooneryb on Twitter or like us on Facebook to get a feel for the mix of quirky and commemorative of-the-year history Sooner documents.) We often say that Sooner is a magazine that happens to come out in hardback, once a year. Check us out on oudaily.com.

During the summer, Features staff create Sower, a magazine for incoming freshmen and their families that focuses on all a student would need to know to come to OU, from how to decorate a dorm room or solve roommate problems to profiles of OU VIPs and trends.

Features is also home to a variety of special publications, including include a football gameday guide, the university's Visitor Guide, and sections geared toward gift buying and the apartment and home hunt, that provide students with additional media experience and short-term leadership opportunities and offer the specific info to our OU audience.
