Staff Assistant Mike Hillerby imagines himself the clutch of the drivetrain that is Student Media. He enjoys talking with students, customers on the phone, sleeping in the rain, Sumerian epic poetry, high German opera and the films of Truffaut. If he can't solve your problem, he'll make certain you're entertained while he finds someone who can. Mike believes laughter is more powerful than 10,000 armored horses. Which explains Jerry Lewis' astonishing victory over the French at Agincourt.

Favorite thing about working in Student Media: Working with students keeps me young. Plus, all my friends work here!
What you most want students to know: It's important to adapt when something doesn't go your way. If you're not getting what you want, want something else. Then go get it.
How you spend a typical evening: I don't have typical evenings in my life, and I thank heaven for it.
Dream vacation: A week exploring the Temple of the Moon on the Yucatan Peninsula
Source of inspiration: A brilliant song. A magnificent peom. A spectacular dinner. An unforgettable woman. A shattering thunderstorm.
What you're most proud of: Graduating in the top three of my basic-training battalion at the
U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Ga.
What's now playing on your music media of choice: The Doors Live at the Hollywood Bowl
Weirdest thing you've ever eaten: A handful of roly-polies
You wouldn't be caught dead: Watching television.
What you'd do if you didn't have to work: Play video games, pretty much all the time.
Two (non-[m]) things you're very good at: Singing and general trivia.
Two (non-[m]) things you're very bad at: Playing the guitar and cooking. But I still have fun
trying.
Fictional character you're most like: Han Solo
Fictional character you most admire: Samwise Gamgee
Fictional character you'd like to be: Indiana Jones
Best advice you ever received: Control your destiny or someone else will do it for you.
